Create Britain Profile (Researching into existing portfolio from Create Britain is here as well)

So, recently I made a Create Britain account. I now have a new place to showcase my work, videos and social media pages. I also list all of my skills, and talk about which ones I feel most comfortable with. For example I'm not just a video editor, I have also done journalism, video production, digital posts etc along side it. This is a quick and efficient way I can forward people my work and show them what I'm all about. Create Britain profiles have an easy to read format that allows you to see more information about someone, as well as this you see their social media pages, past work, and skills. This is way more efficient than creating a website. However, I didn't create my profile without doing research, so I created a PowerPoint all about the research I have done.

As you can see I have used the same colour scheme that I used for my logo and business card for my Create Britain account. I did this to establish my brands identity and maintain some element of consistency. By doing this people will easily be able to recognise my account. I made my banner on Picsart and I included one of my character stills, I did this to make my banner look more eye catching. When I used my character on my business card people said it grabbed their attention, so I made sure to include it on my banner. For my profile picture I used my logo I designed on a previous post. I did this as a way to further establish my brand. When I created my logo I received good feedback, so I thought it would look good on my create Britain account. I described myself as an emerging content creator, because I feel that label best describes me. When it comes to the accounts I linked, I linked my YouTube channel, Instagram account and Blogger account. I wanted to make sure to includes links to my work, so people could get a better idea of what I do.

Here is my description, I wrote about myself and my purpose. I have been making content since I was 10, so I made sure to flex my experience and drive in my description. I also talked about the college curse I am currently studying, I did this to give the consumer a better understanding of where I currently am in life. I also left a link to my other YouTube channel because I could only link one at the top.

For this next part I showed all of my featured work, this is a place where I can display my videos for all to see. The videos I chose to feature were some of my YouTube videos I have made over the last few years, I displayed these because they are well edited videos that have gained traction online. I believe showing popular videos will help show the consumer that I am capable of getting views online. When it comes to my college work I also put my Culture In The Digital Age documentary on there as well, I got a distinction grade for this documentary so I thought I would showcase it. I actually showed some skills that I haven't shown in my videos, such as slow motion camera work. I didn't include my advert because I don't particularly think it's up to scratch. it was the first college project I made and I don't feel as if it warrants a place over the other videos I have included. It isn't a true reflection of my current skills.

These are my creative disciplines, I have created a wheel where I show my skills. The skills I posses are Journalism, Creative Production, Scriptwriting, Editing and Digital Media. I have learned most of these skills over the last few years, some of which I have learned in my spare time meanwhile others such as Journalism I learned at my work placement. By creating a skill wheel I can show the consumer what skills I have, this will be helpful information for anyone who is looking to hire me. I also like the fact the wheel has different colours for different genres, it makes everything more understandable.

In this segment I elaborate on my digital media skills, this helps the consumer grasp a greater understanding of what I'm all about. The first thing I talk about is my digital work, I discuss that I have made various different pieces of digital art. Most of the digital art I have created is for my Instagram page Anonymous_SAFC. I make different posts every week, most of which are previews, reviews and my personal transfer targets. I also talk about the fact I have made various different YouTube thumbnails over the last 6 years. I use Picsart to make most of my digital art, so I make sure to disclose that.

I then opened up about my creative production skills, creative production is my bread and butter so I made sure to give myself 4 circles for this segment. I talk about the fact I have made lots of different videos over the last 6 years, this shows the consumer that I am experienced within the area of content creation. I further develop my point by discussing my versatility within the area, I talk about all of the different genres I have dabbled in. This shows the consumer that I am not 1 dimensional. Personally I want to become a full time content creator, so I made sure to express that in my paragraph. This shows the consumer that I am passionate about what I do. Finally I also touched on the documentary I made last year, I did to show that I have done some creative production in college and I can also make TV style content.

For this next part I go into more depth about my writing skills. The first thing I talked about was journalism, I have recently been doing a lot of journalism so I now have more to write about. Firstly I touched on the fact I have wrote various different articles for popular Sunderland fanzine A Love Supreme, I have been doing my work placement at ALS. I do a lot of sports journalism, more specifically articles about Sunderland and England. SAFC is my local team, so I enjoy writing articles about them, I do match previews, how we've fared against teams in the past and lots of other different things.

Next I touched on my scriptwriting I do for my YouTube videos. When I make my commentary style videos, I always script them in some way. Personally scriptwriting is a great way of self expression and I really enjoy writing and creating videos, so I made sure to let the consumer know.

Finally I opened up about my editing skills, I have been editing videos for over 6 years now. I have used various different editing software's such as KInemaster Diamond, Vlogit and Splice. I am very experienced in this subject area and I do a lot of editing in my spare time. By editing videos I am able to bring my thoughts and ideas to life, and that's really important to me. I want the consumer to understand that I have a passion for video editing.

Last but not least I made sure to share my location, I obviously didn't include my personal address. I added my location to show the consumer that I am based in Sunderland, England. This will help anyone who is looking to approach me, because it gives them a better idea of where I live. Some people really enjoy supporting local businesses, so this may contribute to that as well.

GOOGLE FORMS PEER FEEDBACK
I created a survey for my Create Britain account and was able to gather some responses as to what works well and what could be changed about my page. The feedback showed me that my page is very solid and there isn't much that needs to be changed.

I am now certain my page is easy to navigate for visitors as there was a 100% yes in response to this question. The survey also shows that people like my colour scheme and existing work.

In response to what could be improved, I will edit my create Britain account and show some examples of digital art I have created. I will do this to give the consume a better understanding of my digital art skills. I will make sure to take this feedback on board and make some improvements to my page.

IMPROVEMENT

There is now an example of digital art on my Create Britain page. I used one of my posts from last season, this one was the league 1 play off final preview. I got my score prediction correct and the game was amazing. I made this on Picsart and you can see that I cut out lots different pictures of players and put them over Trafalgar square. I then got a picture of Wembley and faded it in the background, I did this because it shows the importance of the occasion. Create Britain only let me add 1 picture, so this is the one I went for. It improves my page nevertheless.

I also added an image from 1 of my articles in the journalism section. Unfortunately I could only upload a small image, so I couldn't upload my full article. But yet again it further improves my page, so it's definitely a welcome addition in my eyes. The image gives the consumer a better understanding of what my articles look like.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, this process has helped me develop a brand new digital portfolio that I can use to show people my work. I have expanded my understanding on the subject of portfolio's, and I believe my account's layout is appropriate for use. I can show my employers this account, and they can grasp a better idea of my skills and abilities. I have displayed multiple examples of work, ranging from YouTube videos, college projects, and print media I have made for my Instagram. This shows the consumer my versatility within the industry, and I am proud of my work. I made sure to maintain an element of consistency within my account, business card, and logo. This is good for establishing my brand identity, so I made sure to use my logo as my profile picture, as well maintain the black and gold colour scheme.

By receiving feedback from my peers, I have been able to improve my account and make it look more professional. I have enjoyed this process, and I believe that creating this account has been helpful. If I were to apply for a job, apprenticeship, or university, I would be able to show them my Create Britain. It's a quick and efficient way to display my work.
